GIS IN GEOMORPHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT RESOURCES FOR RECREATION (ON THE EXAMPLE OF TRANSBOUNDARY GORNY ALTAI)

The analysis of the value of the relief for recreational nature. Considered natural and climatic conditions of the territory, carried out with the release of 25 zoning of natural-recreational areas. Described relief, its main characteristics and features. Evaluated geomorphological resources for recreation. The study used GIS tools. The authors found that the value of landforms in the tourist development of the cross-border territory of Gorny Altai is the following: relief is often natural attractions;topography plays a therapeutic role in the recreational use areas. The region contributes to research relief organization of sports activities, as well as in low - therapeutic recreational pursuits; relief forms territory determines the choice of location for the construction of tourist infrastructure.
